What is an explainer video?

An explainer video is a video that explains something in a visual way to perhaps a client or an employee. They are often used for training purposes and make the learning process much more interesting to the viewer, instead of them having to read pages of writing or go through text books.

Research has proven that visual learning is often much more effective, through the use of images, videos, colour and sound, as it helps to stick in the learner’s mind much more easily. These types of videos are often used to explain a business in a short and simple way and can be placed onto a website for customers to see.

Some video production companies specialise in explainer videos. There are many different types available, including animation, whiteboard, promo and video scribe amongst others. They are used for promotional purposes and can be very effective at enticing customers into using your business as a service or purchasing a product from you. They also look very professional, so long as you go for the right company. A quick search on Google will bring up plenty of results of video companies offering this service, so be sure to check them out and compare against one another in terms of quality and price. It is also a good idea to check out their previous work or client comments, and many of these companies will happily display their portfolios online.

There are various steps included when creating an explainer video. A script and storyboard first needs to be set out, then the colours and schemes chosen, as well as a voiceover artist to use over the top of the video in terms of audio. The video will then be created and published.
